Peacelights and We, The World are partnering to offer a series of daily tele-seminar phone calls from December 7 to December 21 at Noon Eastern Time. Every day we will gather virtually for 20 minutes to meditate together and be the peace we wish to see in the world. Calls will start with a 10 minutes teaching , followed by a 5 minutes meditation on peace, and prayers for peace in our planet.
Each call takes place at noon Eastern Time (USA) and
will last 20 minutes. The calls are free and
will be recorded, so if you can't make the scheduled time, you’ll be able to
listen to them at your convenience, and as many times as you like.
Featured speakers include Buddhist writer and co-Founder of the Tibet House Robert Thurman, President of the Global Security Institute Jonathan Granoff, World Peace Prayer Society’s UN Representative Rev. Deborah Moldow, best selling author, speaker and coach Debbie Ford, former Director of Amnesty International and peace teacher and activist James O’Dea, Co-Founder of Coalition OneVoice and teacher of Integral Spirituality, Kurt Johnson, and many others.

Who is Amma and what did she say
Mata Amritanadamayi Devi, affectionately called Amma, is also known as the Hugging Saint as she personally hugs and consoles millions of people, while serving hundreds of thousands in need through her many charitable organizations.
At a recent retreat in Michigan, Amma shared this message with a sense of great urgency.
Amma said that Mother Nature is very agitated at the moment and that there is a lot of turbulence in our hearts and our minds. We need to cool down the atmosphere she said. She asked for each of us to meditate on peace for just 5 minutes twice a day. Once a day is fine too, she said. She asked us to repeat a mantra for peace that resonates deep within us for 5 minutes, then radiate the peace from our hearts onto our communities and our beautiful planet.
Amma said. “Please pray for world leaders to have patience and use their words carefully. With world leaders, one angry word can lead to a war.
Please make a very firm resolve: ‘I will not say anything hurtful or negative to anyone’... and think carefully many times before even uttering a word. There is a great deal of negative vibrations in the atmosphere and we shouldn't use negative speech at this time, especially, and even towards our enemies. Pray that everyone has the power of will, to be patient, compassionate and loving. “
What are Peace Mantras
Peace mantras are powerful invocations for harmony and blessings for all of creation. A mantra is a sound or group of words that is considered capable of creating transformation inside us and in the outer world. By vocalizing peace mantras we embody the existence of peace.
Some powerful
Peace Mantras are below or feel free to use another one
that resonates within you. These mantras are repeated a minimum of 3
times, asking for peace in nature, peace in the world, and peace in our minds.
The intention is to have peace in the world, and as we are part and one with
the world, this peace will benefit us as well. The focus however is on the
collective.

How your meditation changes the world
In an experiment in 1993, four thousand meditators gathered in Washington DC for 7 consecutive weeks and meditated together twice a day. By the time the experiment ended, the crime rate went down by 23.6%. Similar experiments have been done in other cities, leading to similar results. Additional studies have also been done which demonstrated that patients who were prayed for recovered faster and more completely than those who were not supported by prayer.
As we lead up to December 21, 2012, a date many believe to be a pivotal moment in our human history, what each one of us does, or more importantly, what each one of us embodies, makes a huge difference in the future of our beautiful planet.
